The Beast

I rented the 24-70L and now I really understand why people call it the beast. It is H-E-A-V-Y....and sharp. And heavy, did I say that already. With that on my 40D my wrist actually physically hurt after an hour. I want it oh so bad.

Now I love my Tamron and have professed how sharp it is (and I still really think it is)...but there is a reason it cost in the 300 range and this is in the 1,000 range. It could also be that mine isn't calibrated but the L really blew me away.

As said best by Wayne Campbell of Wayne's World, "It will be mine, Oh yes it will be mine."

Now if my son could only get a little more personality ;) And if your music is on, sorry this song is in honor of him cause he is indeed a "Goofy Goober"

Ps- I just calibrated my monitor and am getting used to it so please tell me if my colors are wonkyfied.

Oh YEAH... I knew you would want one after you played with it! It is just one AMAZING piece of glass! I totally heard Wayne in my head when I read that too, ROFL!

Your boy, OMG, he is just the CUTEST thing! The colors look great on my screen too- what a ham! (ahem, I mean, what a GOOFY GOOBER!)

Havent' heard that song and will definately have to save it! too funny. I think your colors look amazing. Don't know if it's from the glass or the calibration.

I have the 24-70 and just held a 40D for the first time the other day--I'm going to need to work out with weights before I make that purchase! I love these shots--he has the best face, and I love the filmstrip storyboard.

Well, I guess you're right that there is a reason it costs $1000! I've just started considering buying the Tamaron b/c it will take me way too long to save for the Canon. Oh, and your pics are awesome!

Oh wow! That is beautiful. Why oh why do they have to be so expensive. It really tells you something when the lens almost costs as much as the camera huh! I love all of the great faces you caught. Wow! $1000! Holy moly.
