Zooage

We went to the zoo the other day with our friends Nick, Melissa, and their son Mahi. Such a fun time, thanks guys for coming! Sorry there are going to be a lot of pictures in this post (so I tried to make them a bit smaller than normal, which seems to make them look pixely. Oh well)

I will start off with the animals . It seemed like a lot of them were sleeping so I didn't take a ton of pictures.

Is it weird that the gorillas always make me sad? I feel really bad taking their pictures because it seems they have something in their eyes asking for everyone to please just leave them alone and let them be. It feels like such an intrusion.

I love this shot, it is just so sweet the way the hand is under the chin of the baby <3

Elephants, and rhinos, and bears. Oh my!

The zoo proves that I can take snapshots! Well as much as I could with a telephoto lens. It was in and out of sun/clouds all say so it was to hard to try and be perfect. Here are just some of the random snaps from thoughout the day.

The kind of monkeys I don't mind feel bad taking pictures of:

I so agree with you about the gorillas. I hesitate to photograph them because they pull at my heartstrings so much. Same with the orangutans. Looks like you all had a very nice day!

Great shots! Especially of the boys!

I just shot a very similar camel in a local park. Hmm...

Yay, lucky for us you decided to bring the camera!

I'm just the opposite... I think the gorilla's WANT their picture taken. They pose and look into your eyes. They are very sure of themselves and have an "air" about them. They know they are awesome.

I love (LOVE) that shot of the Gorillas! Wow! The emotion captured there could seriously win competitions! I suggest you enter that shot in your local fair!

Gorillas certainly can give us the "eye" but then again, they also seem quite curious and not threatened by us mere humans. Your photos of the gorillas are fantastic! I love how expressive they are (your photos AND the gorillas)! And your own personal little monkeys are totally adorable.
Oh! And thanks for the star trek link. I'm sure my DH will be amused/fascinated.

Late in commenting - as usual! My favorites are the large gorilla on it's back with the little one on top, and Mahi with his hair all a mess. Great job!
