So guess who hates his costume???
He wouldn't even let me tuck the headpiece in and as soon as it was off it was immediate smiles.
I honestly can't say I blame him....I mean it is a little girly. But James will be working out his sewing skills to turn it into something resembling Mugato (Star Trek Character)
Easier times last year.
Let's hope after the horn is added he likes it a bit more.
I know my colors are all over the place I just really wanted some quick snaps before we altered the costume (someday I will no longer feel the need to add disclaimers...I hope)

Reason #352 I love my husband!
So James hasn't shaved in awhile...think this only even scruffier:
I told him he really needs to shave...fast forward to midnight last night. I am in the computer room editing pictures and hear, "How you doin?" and turn around to see this (excuse my completely messy computer room):
Completely ridiculous!
Seriously?? Could he look any more 70's? Lol. He said his inspiration was evil David Hasselhoff from Knight Rider (otherwise known as Garth Knight)
I am thinking it looks a bit more Ned Flanders:
Perhaps Uncle Rico?
Whatever it is, it's funny...and Reason #352 I love James-mustachios!
Fortunately he just wore it to work the next day to crack his friends up and brought a razor in with him so it didn't even make it home :)

It shouldn't be this easy....
I had a super easy session earlier tonight. The couple was so laid back. I was literally at their house for 25 minutes. No joke. They just wanted a good family picture, which was the main focus. And I managed to get that in the 25 minutes with 2 dogs none the less (which I still have to edit)...plus so much more.
I couldn't stop myself for editing a couple of their daughter real quick though. She was so smiley and adorable. How could you resist this face?
A little closer crop, with a mocha conversion.
And oh my gosh how insanely cute is this?! Cutest duck I have ever seen :)

Know your Spock
Do you know your Spock? Apparently there is a Good Spock and an Evil Spock. I told Blaze to show me what the good Spock looks like and he showed me this face:
Then I told him to show me what Evil Spock looked like so I could have a picture and he said, "Mom Spock doesn't show emotion so just use the same picture and say that is evil Spock." Lol...I apoligize for not being a Trekkie.
But if Spock doesn't show any emotion how do you explain this?!
I rest my case.
Confession Time- I wrote this post like I don't know anything about Star Trek (trying to maintain some amount of coolness)but I have to admit I have been forced to watch some episodes and even *gasp* kind of enjoyed them (ok, ok, I was dragged to a Star Trek convention too...not gonna say I enjoyed that though except for the people watching...ah yes the people watching.) So James if you are reading this, there I publicly said I kind of enjoyed Star Trek. Can I please have this lens now, lol ;) I ain't too proud to beg.
I wanted to thank everyone too for their compliments about my hair too, they made my day!

You take the good, you take the bad...
You take them both and there you have the facts of life, the facts of life. You're welcome for getting that song stuck in your head ;)
Anyways...so I rented a 70-200 cause I really think I want that lens. I went with the f/4 non IS version cause I wanted to convince myself that would be fine for me. I have the 24-70 2.8 and the 85 1.8 so I don't really need the extra stops I just want some more reach.
The good is that I think I will love this lens. I only got to take a couple of pictures when I got home since it was already getting dark. I can't wait to have more time to play with plenty of light.
(I wasn't really worried about comp, white balance or anything like that with these, just sharpness)
My little Rocky
The bad is that I think I will love this lens- anyone want to float me $600...it's better than the $1800 for the other one ;)
And just cause this cracks me up...he looks so Igor/Hunchback of Notre Dame here:

Looking Good
There is not much you can do at three months besides look adorable.
And when you do it as good as this little guy there is nothing anyone can say to you about it ;)
They were such a sweet family and I could just feel the love between them. I love getting to experience that.
Have I mentioned that I love, love, love fall! Check out that light.
Still have to show the b/w version too though, it's a sickness ;)

Hair today...gone tomorrow
So I did it- I chopped my hair off! I was looking for pictures to give you a before but I so shy away from the camera that these are probably at least 5 months old...and my hair has just been growing since then so it was much longer.
And the new hair.....
Keep in mind that I am the most unphotogenic person in the world and will not smile for the camera...
I love it!!!! Seriously I think this might be my favorite haircut ever and pictures really don't do it justice. I have never had my hair this short and I couldn't be happier. I am used to always at least being able to pull it back which I can't do now :)
I liked this one in b/w too:
A little funky processing:
Thanks James for taking the pics for me you did a great job!

Sneaky Sneakerton
One thing I love most about photography is meeting all the gorgeous children out there. These brothers were dolls, and there is no way they could ever deny each other. They look so alike...at least I think so, especially in the eyes!
Just wanted to share a quick closeup before I go watch Biggest Losers( that show is so amazing-I'm rooting for the red team!)
Sidenote- Hair appointment tomorrow...should I chop it all off??!!! If only I get brave enough I am tired of just pulling it back everyday.

Awwww Ray-Ray is engaged!
I just wanted to give a huge congrats to my best friend Rachel and her boyfriend...I mean fiancee! He popped the question last night and she said yes (I mean I think she did even though I did not hear it... but there was hugging and kissing and he put the ring on her finger so I am pretty sure that is a yes lol)
The story is a tiny bit long so if you feel like it skip over to the pictures and just join me in saying "Awwwww!"
My husband and James have been talking about this plan for at least a couple of months and it all worked out perfectly.
Her boyfriend (fiancee...gotta get used to that) loves Halloween and we were going to an awesome haunted house which was a couple of hours away so they got a hotel room...how convenient. Unfortunately he got "sick" though and was unable to make it. We had 15 people with us though so we convinced her that she should still go. It was so funny the whole time at dinner she wanted to go back to the room to check on him and in the over an hour long wait in the line she was sad. She kept talking about how bummed he was going to be that he missed this. So we kept convincing her that it would be ok. Unbeknownst to her though he was in the haunted house just waiting for her. He and my husband had gone through earlier and set up the plan to notify him that our group was coming. When we got to the designated area we all surrounded Rachel and were trying to get her to stay in one place while this guy in a mask grabbed her hand. She of course was freaking out and trying to get away. The guy in the mask got down on one knee and pulled out a box...to which she freaked out some more not knowing what was going on. Then he pulled off his mask and opened the box with the ring and she freaked out even more...now knowing what was going on. It was perfect, and super cute and so him. She could not have been more surprised.
Here are a few pictures from months ago...I think I need to get some updated ones with the blingage!
I even edited a new one...that I specifically took with this crop in mind and just forgot I had it. Dur. It reminds me of this song playing now.
Rachel, I love you and you are such a great friend who has always been there for me. James and I couldn't be happier for the two of you. I think James (your James...and my James lol) is an amazing guy and you couldn't have done any better. Just don't pick ugly bridesmaids dresses or you know what will happen ;)
I could be a little biased as to why I like James so much...I mean his name is James...with black semi spiky hair...and he collects toys. Remind you of anyone???

My Little Blythe Doll
Do any of you remember Blythe Dolls? Good, me either. Apparently one of James friends does though (and James of course since he knows everything about every toy in the world). When his friend saw Keaton a bit ago he said, "Oh he looks like a Blythe doll" To which I said, "Not really sure what that is dude" and he replied, "They are dolls from the 70's with huge heads and gigantic eyes" and then I am all, "Did you just call my baby a freak cause I will karate chop you"
Apparently they are adorable though so all is good. I can kinda see it too. The head, little heart shaped face, and ginormous eyes...Keats is a blythe.
Take this one for example:
Now imagine it with green eyes and more browny blond hair:
And imagine it's not a girl, total Keats.
A little side by side viewage:
Ahhh, my Keats the doll. I should really stop saying these things in front of him though don't want him to get a big(ger) head.

A-flipping-mazing!
That pretty much sums up the Ben Folds concert. He sings so beautifully and he is funny. The stories he told about the songs were just awesome so all in all I had a blast! Thanks James for the best surprise gift ever <3
I was here Saturday!!!
Surprisingly one of my favorite songs (obviosly my favirte was our wedding song) was the only one I hadn't heard before, "Gracie". It was a song he wrote for his daughter when she was three and it was just so cute. So if you have a girl I suggest listening to it and changing the name to your daughters name...cause thats what I like to do with songs-make them all about me ;)
