Oh, and to answer your question, I bought the Kenko brand tubes- just make sure they are the correct mount for your camera (Canon EF/EF-S mount). I got a set of 3 different sized tubes for $100 off eBay. Definitely cheaper than the 100mm macro lens I am drooling over! ;)
